Hymann’s Seafood is one of Charleston’s most beloved seafood dining spots, but it may surprise many to learn that it is also Jewish-owned and operated. While not a strictly kosher restaurant, the dedicated owners have made sure that those following dietary laws can enjoy a tasty meal through their Glatt Kosher Menu. The owners are involved with the local Chabad who prepares kosher meals, triple wraps them, freezes them, and eventually reheats and serves to kosher diners who eat at Hymann’s.

Meal choices include kosher wines, challah bread, matza ball soup, beef brisket, stuffed cabbage, meatballs, and more, to ensure you aren’t stuck with a slim variety of choices! One of the best perks of eating kosher at Hymann’s is that 100% of proceeds on the kosher menu go directly to the Chabad.

If you plan to order from the kosher menu, please keep in mind that since the dishes are frozen and reheated, thawing the meals may take time. They suggest ordering calling ahead to inform the restaurant what dish you want 45 minutes prior to your visit to avoid longer food wait times.

Whether the kosher menu best fits your dietary needs or you feel a pull to give to a local Charleston community, Hymann’s Seafood is a great place to sit down with friends to a nice meal that everyone can enjoy!
